A guide to parking in the City of Hamilton

This section is designed to provide the general rules for parking in Hamilton, both on the streets and in car parks owned by the City of Hamilton.

Please note that there are additional parking restrictions. For example, cars cannot park in loading zones, taxi stands, in areas marked by yellow lines, on pedestrian crossings, in bus stops, cycle bays or doctors parking bays. It is also against the law and dangerous to double park on any street in the City of Hamilton.
