Seaport Security Pass Application Form

Seaport Security Passes are issued in accordance with the provisions of the Maritime Security Act 1997 and the Revenue Act 1898. It is unlawful for any person to the employed in any occupation in the Restricted / Custom Area of the seaport if they have a conviction under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1972 or any other conviction for dishonesty under the Criminal Code.

This relates to a conviction under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1972 or any offense under the Criminal Code involving dishonest. This does not include Traffic Offenses.

  • There is an $80.00 non-refundable charge for the issue of a Seaport Security Pass which should be paid at the time of application.
  • Passes are only issued upon application and satisfactory security vetting through the Commissioner of Police.
  • A valid pass must be shown whenever you wish to enter the Hamilton Cargo Docks, Cruise Ship Passenger Terminals at Hamilton.
  • Your pass is to be worn so that it is clearly visible on your person while you are in the Restricted Area.
  • A pass issued by the Corporation of Hamiltion authorizes access to the Hamilton Cargo Docs only.
  • A pass issued by the Department of Marine and Port Services authorizes access to all doc areas at Hamilton, St. George's, Dockyard and the Oil Docks.
  • The purpose of the Seaport Security Pass is to ensure that access to Bermuda's Seaport is controlled in accordance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, Bermuda Maritime Security Act 1997 and Customs Revenue Act 1898.
  • A Seaport Security Pass is for identification purposes only and does not automatically confir right of access to the holder.
  • A search of persons, articles/effects, vehicles and vessels within the Research Area of the Seaport may be undertaken at any time.
  • Passes issued by the Corporation of Hamilton are valid for 2 years at which time pass holders must re-apply and be re-vetted.
  • Passes MUST be surrendered if the holder is no longer employed by the company sponsoring the original dock pass application.

In making this application I hereby certify that the above information is true to the best of my knowledge and belief and that i provide such information knwoing that if I have willfully stated that anything that is false, it could result in this application being refused and may cause any pass currently issued in my name to be immediately revoked. I understand that a security check will be made before the issuance of any Seaport Security Pass and I herebey agree to an individual background check being made by the Department of Marine and Port Services through the Commissioner of Police.
