I’ve been employed at The Corporation of Hamilton for three years. Before I started I thought I had a good idea of what happened at The Corporation but after joining I found there is a whole lot more that happens than meets the eye.

The first half of my time I was located at City Hall a bee hive of activity. I am currently working on the water front at the Port Operations Office as and Administrative Assistant; again there is never a dull moment.

At the Docks, ships arrive with passengers, crew, cargo etc. that need to be dealt with.

The no. 6 Terminal has events that are held throughout the year, and things like licensing Tour Boats that come alongside the Hamilton wharfs, or allowing some one to gain access to the Port to collect cargo is handled here.

I enjoy my job and even though I deal with a wide range of things on any given day, the days, weeks, and months seem to fly by.

I enjoy the versatility and interaction with customers in my job as a Tax and Property Administrator. I have opportunities to help in a productive and informative manner to those customers seeking answers for tax related issues.

There is always something new going on and a sense of satisfaction when a task is completed successfully from start to finish.

I have been employed with Corporation of Hamilton for 4 years. I’m a single parent with two kids, my daughter is 11 and my son is 6.

I am currently a Driver for the Corporation but prior to becoming a Driver I was a Manual Sweeper. I really enjoy every aspect of my job even the daily tasks that I must endure throughout my day.

I’m the only female presently that operates the trucks at the Corporation. I work along side all gentlemen and enjoy every minute that we share together, whether bad or good we are still a team at the end of the day.

I joined the Corporation of Hamilton family in 2006. It was a positive career move for it meant venturing into a different career field.

I was actually signing up for a carpenter or trucker position but instead filled a position in the Sanitation Department.

By keeping a positive attitude and a work good ethic, has allowed me the opportunity to learn about the different departments and their duties within the Corporation.

The decision to become a Corporation of Hamilton family member has not been in vain.

To say that working for the Corporation of Hamilton has been a rewarding experience would be an understatement to say the least.

I have been employed with the Corporation of Hamilton for 25 years and within those years my on the job training has afforded me the opportunity of several promotions.

I started as a Construction Labourer and after a period I was promoted to Foreman then moved on to become the Electrical & Engineering Technician then Assistant Technical Superintendent which led to my current position as the General Superintendent to the Works Yard.

I knew from my first day on the job some ten years ago that the Corporation of Hamilton was the place for me. I began as a Labourer and worked my way up to an Engineering Foreman.

Not only have I developed a good work ethic but I have developed and matured as a person amongst the Corporation family.

In 2007, I was honored to be elected by my peers to represent them as Co. Head of the JCC.

In 2008, I was elected as President/Chief Shop Steward for the Corporation of Hamilton’s Division of the Bermuda Industrial Union.

If you are a person who likes to work out of doors, who is versatile and settled and enjoys working with diverse group of people, than I will tell you that the Corporation of Hamilton would be the place for you.
