Rt. Wor. Charles R. Gosling, J.P. |
Mayor’s Parlour
City Hall, Hamilton, Bermuda
The recent Corporation of Hamilton election was historic: for the first time in the history of Municipal elections in Bermuda, nine hardworking, committed and civic-minded people joined forces to run as a team; and for the first time in more than 60 years each position on the Board was contested. By my calculation more than 80% of eligible voters cast their ballots and made their voices heard.
For this, we thank all those who voted.
The new Board has been given a clear order to move ahead swiftly, to set a course that will make the City of Hamilton better for all its constituents and to leave divisiveness behind. There is a lot of work ahead as we begin talks with the Bermuda Government, forging a new future for our Corporation of Hamilton and in due course we will be asking for your input and support.
We have already begun the process of meeting and working with the Bermuda Small Business Development Corporation, members of the Economic Empowerment Zone and the Uptown Market Association and all other organizations that play a vital role in the day to day improvement of our City.
Leading up to the election we vowed to have open meetings so that the Corporation is transparent in its operations and ensure that you have a voice in how City business is being conducted. An announcement will be made shortly on our first Town Hall meeting. If, in the meantime, you have any questions please feel free to contact me directly at mayor@cityhall.bm.
From today it is our goal to communicate more with you, keeping you abreast of our plans and those local issues which may affect you. In the meantime, I look forward to your emails.
Yours sincerely,
Charles R. Gosling
Mayor of Hamilton
